Questioning Congress’ silence over clashes in Kishtwar area of Jammu & Kashmir, the Punjab BJP on Friday asked why Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi have failed to realise the sufferings of Hindus community which is in minority there.
“While the Prime Minister, Congress chief and Rahul Gandhi went all the way to Muzaffarnagar to wipe tears of Muslim community, they failed to feel the same pain for Hindus in minority at Kishtwar,” said BJP Rajya Sabha MP and BJP in-charge J&K affairs Avinash Rai Khanna and party’s
Kisan Morcha’s national spokesperson and assistant media advisor to Punjab Government Vineet Joshi.
BJP leaders, in a joint press statement, demanded equal treatment for the grief stricken population of Kishtwar on the same lines as is being offered to Muzaffarnagar people.
“Congress’ dual policy has proved that it does not consider Kishtwar Hindus a part of the country. Congress is always vocal whenever there is an issue pertaining to minorities especially Muslims. It has dual policy towards religion equality. leave alone the question of offering solace to the grief stricken Kishtwar Hindus, Congress did not even deem it fit to issue even a statement offering sympathy,” the statement added.
