The Trinamool Congress cadres will now work in tandem with professional cadres of election strategist Prashant Kishor who was credited with successfully planning political campaigns of Narendra Modi in 2014, Lalu-Yadav-Nitish Kumar in Bihar, Jaganmohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose Trinamool Congress had reportedly engaged Kishor professionally to turn the sagging fortunes of her party, on Sunday held a joint meeting with TMC cadres where it was decided that both Trinamool cadres and Kishor’s army will work jointly “shoulder-to-shoulder” to create public opinion in favour of the ruling outfit ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.

Sources also said quoting Kishor that he was toying with the idea of employing whole-timers like the CPI(M) to work for the TMC. According to TMC sources Kishor also suggested ways to plug the loopholes both in the party and the government.

Kishor was appointed by Banerjee after her party got severe drubbing in the general elections at the hands of the BJP. The TMC got 22 out of 42 seats while the BJP got 18 seats losing at least three seats by a whisker. The Congress got 2 and the Left could win no seats. The TMC had won 34 seats in 2014.
