Speculation of former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy joining the BJP, doing the rounds for the last couple of weeks, has got a further boost on Thursday with Reddy meeting the Telangana State BJP president G Kishan Reddy.
Kiran Kumar — who resigned as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister after Parliament passed a Bill to bifurcate the State and parted ways with the Congress — was completely overshadowed since his newly-launched Jaisamakiya Andhra Party badly lost the lok Sabha and Assembly elections and a drew a blank.
Speculation was continuing for some time that Kiran Kumar Reddy and 30 of his close followers were planning to join the BJP. Kiran hails from Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh but was brought up and educated in Hyderabad.Kishan Reddy, while confirming the meeting with Kiran Kumar, described it as a casual meeting. If speculation turn out to be real, it will be interesting to see whether the former Chief Minister will be part of Seemandhra BJP or Telangana. In his election campaign, he had bitterly opposed the State of Telangana.
