Schoolchildren have carved out a name for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Start up India’ initiative by winning the finals of an International competition in Goethe Institute of Germany.

Five students from the Amity International School, Pushp Vihar presented a business idea titled 'Peekabook' which made them the winners among 13 other teams from Indonesia, Malawi, the Netherlands, Romania, Vietnam and Germany.

The competition "Future Young Entrepreneurs Competition" was co-funded by the famous Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union at Berlin.

Peekabook is a business model that will facilitate the purchase of second hand books between the customer and the retailer online by partnering with second hand book retailers all over Delhi. "The customers will have the comfort of buying books at affordable prices sitting in their homes just with a click of mouse, thus saving their time, money and effort. As these would be second hand books, the idea is also environment friendly- one tree is saved for every 114 books sold," said Manan Rai one of the participants from the school.

Ameeta Mohan, Principal of the Amity school said that she had complete "faith" in the ability of the students and was "sure" they would accomplish this feat and make the country proud.

"We are proud to have such brilliant students who have brought laurels to the country. The honour and glory brought by these students in a testimony to our dedication in promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship amongst our students. We encourage them to think out of box and challenge them to carve a future path for themselves," added Dr. Amita Chauhan the Chairperson of the Amity International Schools.
