More than four months after six prisoners were freed from Nabha high security jail, the prime accused in the sensational jailbreak incident, Amandeep Dhothian, is finally in the Punjab police grip.
Punjab Police arrested Dhothian on late Saturday night and recovered a revolver and live cartridges from his possession.
“Dhothian was arrested on a tip off near the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) complex in Jalandhar late last night," the outgoing Jalandhar commissioner of police (CP) Arpit Shukla said on Sunday.
He said that the police also recovered a .32 bore revolver, seven live cartridges, four SIM cards and Rs 5,000 from his possession. He was one of the “most wanted” gangsters in the state. Dhothian is facing 26 heinous cases across the state, he said.
