After a brief period of relative calm, war has erupted once again in AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists), the influential organisation of actors in the Kerala film industry, over a case of an inhuman attack on a young actress by goons allegedly hired by a superstar and the eagerness being shown by the forum to protect him.
Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), a forum of women working in the Kerala film industry, on Monday slammed AMMA for its reported decision to re-induct superstar Dileep, eighth accused in the sensational case pertaining to the inhuman and humiliating attack on the frontline South Indian actress in February last year.
“Why did AMMA expell Dileep earlierIJ What new situation has come about now as different from the one that existed at the time of his expulsion that necessitated his re-inductionIJ Doesn’t it embarrass you that you are re-inducting a person standing accused in a serious case like that of rape even before the trial is overIJ” the WCC asked the organisation through a Facebook post.
