BJP’s Kerala unit president K Surendran alleged on Saturday that the CPI(M) Government in the State is sabotaging the probe into all corruption cases brought to light by his party.
“A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation launched a probe against the LIFE Mission project of the State Government, the Vigilance Department under the direct control of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has removed and destroyed all the relevant files from the Secretariat at Thiruvananthapuram. It was to subvert the probe by the CBI, the Chief Minister ordered Vigilance probe into the allegation of corruption worth hundreds of crore rupees,” said Surendran while speaking to reporters at Pathanamthitta where he inaugurated a Mahila Morchcha rally demanding the resignation of Ministers E P Jayarajan and K T Jaleel against whom there are big allegations of corruption.
The CBI on Friday has registered a case in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Ernakulam, in awarding the LIFE Mission contracts of building apartment complex at Wadakancherry to two private entrepreneurs without any experience in construction sector.
According to sources in CBI, even ministers would be summoned for questioning in this case.
The CBI case is a follow up to a complaint filed by Congress legislator Anil Akkara, who represents Wadakkancherry constituency in the Assembly.
