Kejriwal kingpin in liquor scam: BJP

Published on:

The BJP on Monday launched a fresh attack on the AAP over the now scrapped excise policy saying that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is a kingpin in the liquor scam.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday accused  Kejriwal of being the 'kingpin in (the) liquor (policy) scam' in the national Capital — in connection with which deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was last month raided and questioned by the CBI.

Thakur slammed the AAP — in power in Delhi and Punjab and hopeful of a good showing in next month's Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections — as 'corrupt'.

He also referred to ex Delhi minister Satyendar Jain - in jail over a money laundering case and waiting on a bail plea outcome - to underline his point."Like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand (and) Goa, we will repeat our government in Himachal and Gujarat. AAP should look at Punjab... Corruption is at its peak... Delhi health minister is in jail due to corruption. Arvind Kejriwal is kingpin in liquor scam," Thakur said

Leader of Opposition, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged that this has been proved again that the new excise policy of Delhi was made only to rob Delhi's treasury.  “Due to this policy, Delhi suffered a loss of thousands of crores. Will Kejriwal tell who will be held responsible for this loss and who will compensate for it?,” Bidhuri asked.
