With the analysis of polling trend in the ten districts of Telangana region, projecting TRS bagging 50 of the 119 Assembly seats, Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrashekar Rao is confident of forming the next Government in the new born State.
Though the real picture will emerge only on May 16 when the counting of votes will take place, KCR will have to wait for another fortnight to put his Government in place as Telangana State will be formally inaugurated on June 2.
However, the sources said that KCR has already started working on his Cabinet.
As he had contested on both the Medak lok Sabha and Gajwel Assembly seats, he is likely to retain the Assembly seat to become the first Chief Minister of Telangana.
“In accordance with his oft repeated commitment to social justice, Rao will give a fair representation to all the sections of the society and may have two Deputy Chief Ministers, one Dalit and another Muslim,” sources said.
Apart from the senior TRS leaders who are with the party from the beginning, Rao will also have to keep in mind the seniors who had quit the Congress and the TDP to join the party. They include the former Ministers P Srinivas Reddy, former deputy speaker T Harishwar Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and Gampa Govardhan.
Among the TRS leaders, KCR has to choose between his son K Taraka Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao who was a Minister for a brief period in the Congress-TRS alliance Government in 2004-05. N Narasimha Reddy, an old loyalist of KCR is also likely to get a berth. As no Muslim MlA is likely to be elected on a TRS ticket, KCR is likely to choose MlC Mahmood Ali to be a Minister.
The TRS leaders are also exuding confidence of winning at least 10 to 12 of the 17 lok Sabha seats while independent analysts are giving it around 8 seats. KCR’s daughter Kavita and party’s secretary general K Keshav Rao are likely to be KCR’s eyes and ears in the national capital.
Though in the last leg of the campaign, KCR had aggressively attacked BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi ruling out TRS support to a coalition led by Modi. The sources said that if Modi Government becomes inevitable, TRS may be forced to join it to protect the interest of Telangana. “Otherwise Seemandhra will corner all the benefits at the cost of Telangana,” he said on the condition of anonymity. KCR’s daughter Kavita and party’s secretary general K Keshav Rao are likely to be KCR’s eyes and ears in the national capital.
