As part of his plans to develop Yadgirigutta as Tirumala-Tirupati of Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday undertook an aerial survey of the region near Hyderabad.
KCR flew to the town in a helicopter and after offering prayers at the lakshminarasimha Swamy temple atop Yadgirigutta hills, conducted an aerial survey of the area. He was accompanied by the officials of the temple development committee. KCR also inspected the temple surroundings.
He also chaired the meeting of the committee and discussed various proposals for the development of the region. The State Government has already allocated `100 crore fund for the development of the holy town as a spiritual center to create necessary infrastructure to attract more pilgrims. The Government has already decided to acquire 2,000 acres of land to expand the temple.
Ever since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Governent has been toying with the idea of developing its own Hindu holy places like Yadgirigutta, Bhadrachalam, Basar and Vemuluwada. But Yadgirigutta has found the pride of place in KCR’s plans due to its strategic location not far from Hyderabad.
