Amid the continuing speculation about early elections to the State Assembly, there was a flurry of activities in official and political circles in Hyderabad.

While the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has moved to his farmhouse at Erravelli village in Medak district for holding consultations and chalking out his strategy, officials were conducting a series of high level meetings in the city.

The State Chief Secretary SK Joshi was in the thick of the things as he met the State governor ESl Narasimhan and the Chief Electoral Officer Rajath Kumar. It was believed that possibility of early polls figured in both the meetings.

In his meeting with the governor Joshi was accompanied by the chief advisor to the government Rajeev Sharma and other senior officials.

After attending a training program for the officials regarding the new software to update the electoral rolls in the state, Rajath Kumar told the media that the decision regarding the dates of the elections will be decided by the election commissioner. He said that the new software will make it easy for the officials to remove the fake voters from the electoral lists as they can verify the details along with the photo of any voter.

Meanwhile after Sunday’s show of strength of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was now confined to his farme house where he was meeting the senior party leaders and weighing various options including the dissolving of the State Assembly and going for an early elections.

All eyes were on the next cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday where a clear picture was likely to emerge.

As part of its preparations the TRS has decided to conduct 100 public meetings in next 50 days and take its campaign to the rural areas of the State. Senior Minister T Harish Rao after a meeting with the ministers and leaders of Siddipet district told the media that first such meeting “People’s Blessing” will be held at Husnabad on September 7.

KCR will address the meeting to inform the people about what all his government had done during last four years and seek their support in future. For KCR Husnabad had a sentimental importance as he had launched his election campaign in 2014 from the same place.
