ICU staff of Kamineni hospital taking selfies with the body of senior TDP leader and actor Nandamuri Harikrishna and posting them on social media has sent waves of shock and revulsion.
Harikrishna who met with a horrible road accident in Nalgonda district in the wee hours of Wednesday was rushed to the Kamineni hospital at Narketpally, 10 kms away where efforts of doctors to save his life failed. The selfies show nurses and other staff members posing besides the body, one of them even smiling.
A similar heartlessness was at display at the scene of accident near Anepaethy when soon after SUV driven by Harikrishna hit the divider and was thrown 15 meters away. Many onlookers took photos and made videos of Harikrishna lying on the road covered in his own blood. He had fallen out of the vehicle and found 20 meters away with serious injuries on head face and chest. The gory video clips shot on mobiles were later shown in many local channels till the BTR family intervened and asked the channels to stop.
Meanwhile the management of Kamineni hospital has suspended he four employees who took the selfies with his body. In a statement the management said that it will take further action and also lodge a police complaint against the erring staff.
