Justice Bengal style! Docs bobbitise thief

In a cruelest of incidents that tended to defy, nay defile medical ethics in every possible manner, a group “life-givers” reportedly beat a suspect thief to death, sources said adding an eight-member inspection board had been set up by Principal M Mukherjee.

The junior doctors of NRS Medical College Hospital not only beat up the alleged mobile thief but also bobbitised him before retiring to their respective rooms quietly and in cold blood, leaving the corpse with  waist tied with a rope in an under-construction building inside the campus.

A labourer working in the same under-construction building said one of his colleagues was detained on charges of stealing mobile phones, laptops and other items was beaten up mercilessly.

“He was dragged to the common room from where we could only hear him shrieking,” a labourer said adding, however, he had not seen him being killed. Sources said the students caught him on Sunday red-handed beat him up and chopped off his private parts leading to his instant death.

Though the college authorities would not talk and the students remained tight-lipped officials said a team had been formed to carry out a probe. A case had also been lodged with the local Entally Police Station. State Minister Dr Shashi Panja later said she had called for a detailed report on the incident.

“Prima facie it seems that he had been assaulted” DCP ESD Dhrubojyoti Dey said adding the police found him in the corridor of the building on the third floor. “The police are conducting investigation and things would be clear in a few days” Chandrima Bhattacharya Junior Minister for Health said.
