Jungle raj in UP: Maya

Demanding the Centre’s intervention in Uttar Pradesh, BSP chief Mayawati said that jungle raj prevails in the State where goons, mafia and criminals are calling the shots while administration remains a mute spectator.

“The criminals are having a field day in the present regime as mafias and goondas are running a parallel Government,” she said, while addressing party leaders, co-ordinators, MPs and MlAs of western UP in a meeting held here on Sunday.

She said the rule of the land has ended and it is evident the way former party legislator Sarvesh Kumar Singh alias Ceepu was killed in Azamgarh. “The criminals are calling the shots in this State as jungle raj prevails,” she said.

Mayawati has directed the party MPs and legislators to raise peoples’ issue in a big way during the coming Monsoon Session of both Parliament and the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. “It is the right time for the Centre to intervene as jungle raj prevails in the State and people are frustrated with the Samajwadi Party Government,” the BSP leader said.

Former UP Chief Minister also alleged that the present SP Government was biased in implementation of projects as people of a particular community are being benefited while the rest are neglected.
