Join BJP parivar: Nadda to people

Published on:

With the Assembly elections less than a year away the BJP on Friday mounted fresh attacks on the Mamata Banerjee Government holding it responsible for all round deterioration of socio-political and economic situation in Bengal and asked the people to join the saffron outfit in hordes to effect a second Parivartan (change) in the State.

Firing salvos at the ruling Trinamool Congress party BJP president JP Nadda said “Bengal has gone into an eclipse … today there is an all round deterioration in law and order situation, the students do not get jobs , the farmers do not get right prices for their produce.”

Calling the people to “join the BJP parivar” he said “today cut money and corruptions reigns supreme in Bengal and whoever wants to protest is either silenced by the goons or the police. This situation cannot run for long and the people of the State have to come forward to change the situation by allowing the BJP to take the lead in doing so.”

Nadda was speaking ahead of the beginning of a membership drive by the saffron outfit. The party on Friday launched a massive membership drive keeling in view the next year’s Assembly elections.

Speaking on the occasion Bengal BJP president MP Dilip Ghosh said, “we (BJP are referred to as a non-Bengali party … but they forget that our main ideologue Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was from Bengal … As the Vice Chancellor of the Calcutta University he requested Rabindranath Tagore to give a lecture in Bengali … and today they say we are a party of non-Bengalis.”

Saying how “thousands of people are joining the BJP not just in Bengal but across the country” he accused the TMC of running a goonda raj saying how the TMC government was indulging in vendetta politics. Ghosh said, “'Our supporters are not safe. Either BJP workers are homeless or in jails in false cases. They are ruining Bengali traditions, culture and education system.”

Appealing to the TMC supporters to join the BJP in hordes he said “you had once dreamt of bringing a change in Bengal not only by removing the Marxist Government but also by doing social work but your dreams were shattered by the present Government. But we want to assure you that your dreams will come alive once again when you join the BJP … because after coming to power we will unleash a massive development drive in the State.”

The BJP has plans to recruit more than 3 crore members in the State in the coming one year or so.
