J'khand CM vows to end transfer-posting industry

Hinting at putting a break on infamous practice of transfer and posting industry prevalent in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Raghubar Das made it clear that able officers would not be shuttled around unnecessarily. He also expressed his ideas about administrative reforms in the State under his regime.

Talking to Press persons on Wednesday, the CM said, “Transfer industry would not continue in the State. We would also strengthen Vigilance and lokayukta even further to establish clean governance. I don’t believe in administrative shuffles and instead believe that a criterion to remain on a post is only one’s ability.”

The CM stressed that the State is facing lots of challenges and problems and the time has come to deal with them. He also called for a holistic approach for development and added that the Government would prepare a blueprint with the contribution of one and all. “There is only one slogan of the Government and that is development,” said Das.

The CM at the same time expressed his displeasure over sluggish pace of budget expenditure in this financial year and said that he has started taking steps in that direction. “In the next three months, the Government has the biggest challenge to strengthen its internal resources and for that we would try to meet its revenue collection target. We would also initiate measures so that the promises made to the people can be met,” said the CM.

Counting on his priorities for common man, the CM stressed on providing piped drinking water by 2017 to all as majority of diseases are water-borne. The CM on the eve of New Year’s Day expressed his greetings to the people and invited their suggestions to build a new work culture in the State. He also passed certain directions for the officials which say no officer or personnel would pay any visit to CM’s residence without an invitation or unless any urgency is there. Common man has been encouraged to inform Vigilance or CM’s Secretariat to curb corruption of any kind or middlemen. Officials have been directed to work on war footing so that 2015 can bring a new dawn for Jharkhand. The CM has called for activism to stop malpractice.

Revealing his New Year’s resolution, the Chief Minister said that his Government would work on 24x7 basis for speedy development and try to spend as much budget amount as possible in the remaining three months of the financial year by improving work culture. The CM also resolved that his Government is committed to provide basic facilities to the people and policing would be improved to infuse law and order.
