Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi felt the heat on Tuesday when the police arrested his grandson Vicky (son of his daughter Sunaina Devi) for killing his wife Soni Devi.
After days of interrogation Vicky confessed his crime and said he cremated the body at Vishnupad in Gaya. The
police also took him to the cremation spot.
Soni’s father Ramdeo Manjhi had filed case against Vicky and his parents Jogendra Manjhi and Sunaina, who is a ward councilor of Gaya Municipal Corporation and others with Delha police station in Gaya accusing them of killing his daughter and burning the body.
Sunaina and her husband told the police during interrogation that on Sunday they found Soni missing from the house and they went out for her search. Jogendra also informed Ramdeo and called him to rush. He took Soni’s father on his vehicle but abandoned at some deserted place.
Vicky was missing after the incident and was arrested by the police on Tuesday after getting his location through his mobile. His in-laws had alleged that Vicky and his parents had been demanding dowry and a cash of `2 lakh and she was being tortured. The marriage had taken place in 2008.
