JD(U), RJD, Cong leaders accuse PM of deceiving people

Despite gap of about one year of the announcement of special package worth `1.25 lakh crore by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar is still looking forward and nothing has come so far. This was stated by State presidents of three grand alliance parties the RJD, the JD(U) and the Congress on Sunday.

Bashistha Narain Singh of the JD(U), Ramchandra Purbe of the RJD and Ashok Chaudhary of the Congress alleged that the Modi Government utterly failed to fulfil its promises made before the 2014 general election and 2015 Bihar Assembly polls. Holding a joint Press conference to mark the nine months of the grand alliance Government headed by Nitish Kumar, they said their Government was working relentlessly to fulfil the promises and commitments it had made to the people.

Referring to the seven commitments of the Government they said 35 per cent reservation for women in official jobs was almost fulfilled and women were being recruited as cops. The work on other commitments was going on full swing, said Singh.

Singh said the PM at a public meeting in Ara had announced special package amid much fanfare but the Centre was not even talking about it now. “Rs 25,000 crore of this package was meant for the projects which were going on for over five years and even that amount has not been paid,” he added.

The leaders of the three parties came down heavily on the alleged anti-people and pro-capitalist policies and said it wanted to impose its own ideologies on the strength of its brute majority in lok Sabha. Chaudhary said it dethroned two Congress led elected Governments but had to restore them after judicial reprimand.

“The Modi Government does not believe in Samvidhan (constitution) but Sangh-vidhan (Sangh ideologies),” alleged Purbe.

JD(U) leader Singh said Bihar has become a laboratory of inclusive growth and respect for others and hoped that in the coming days other parties too would follow this exercise. “Only with mutual cooperation and broad based understanding we cam politically fight the BJP and defeat it. The recent elections in some States, has proved it,” he added.

The leaders criticized the PM for not mentioning the trouble torn Kashmir in his Independence day speech and said that people have lost faith in him. They also condemned the Centre for its mishandling of the Dalit atrocities in Gujarat, UP and other States and said that PM was not treating the Dalits and backwards as nationalists.

“The PM owe a reply to the nation for wasting two years only on slogans, jumla and hollow promises and the next three years will be spent on cow vigilantism, communalism and issues like Baluchistan and Gilgit. This Government has no time for growth, economic reforms, job creation and return of black money,” the grand alliance leaders said.
