Ahead of lok Sabha polls, the ruling Janata Dal(United) on Sunday received a jolt when one of its party MPs Vishwa Mohan Kumar joined the BJP along with his supporters. In another significant development, RJD chief lalu Prasad met the parents of an incarcerated criminal seeking support for his daughter who is contesting the lS poll from the constituency.

The JD(U) MP from Supaul, Vishwa Mohan Kumar, along with his supporters joined the BJP in presence of senior State BJP leaders Sushil Kumar Modi, Nand Kishore Yadav and party State president Mangal Pandey.

The JD(U) have reportedly dropped Kumar in the upcoming lok Sabha poll and fielded Tileshwar Kamat instead. It is said that Kumar had expressed his displeasure on denial of ticket to him and was mulling the option to take his next move for quite some time.

Sources in the BJP said that Vishwa Mohan Kumar might be fielded on the BJP ticket from Supaul.

The senior State leader Sushil Kumar Modi, who was said to be instrumental in roping Kumar in the BJP, however, took a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the occasion saying that contrary to what Kumar had said earlier everyday his party leaders are deserting him to join the BJP.

“Earlier, Nitish Kumar said that nobody would be an ally with BJP under Narendra Modi but as one can see everyday leaders and parties are aligning themselves with the BJP both in Bihar and across the nation,” said Modi.

Modi also declared that in next seven to eight days a number of political leaders from several parties would be joining the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi. “Ram Vilas Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha from Bihar had taken the lead of forging an alliance which has spread all across the country now,” he added.

The BJP leader also reiterated that the party would throw an unexpected result in the upcoming elections to make Narendra Modi the next Prime Minister of the country. With lJP and RlSP as an alliance partners, the BJP is contesting on 30 seats in Bihar this time.

Meanwhile, reacting over party MP Vishwa Mohan Kumar’s move to join the BJP, the State JD(U) president Basistha Narayan Singh said that “Kumar has taken an opportunistic move by joining the BJP in this poll season”. “Though it will have no impact on our party’s performance in the polls,” quipped Basistha Narayan Singh.

Meanwhile in another significant development, RJD boss lalu Prasad marched an extra mile and went on to meet the father of a notorious criminal Ritlal Yadav of Danapur-Khagaul area on Saturday seeking support for his daughter Misa Bharti who is contesting poll from Patliputra constituency.

Yadav is currently languishing in Patna’s jail in connection with a number of murder, kidnapping and extortion charges. He also holds a sizeable influence amongst his castemen and declared to file a nomination from Patliputra constituency for the upcoming lok Sabha poll. Sources said that the RJD chief even assured father of Ritalal Yadav that wife of the incarcerated criminal would be accommodated in the State Assembly poll due next year.

Earlier, the JD(U) had expelled altogether five party MPs Mangani lal Mandal, Purnamasi Ram, Capt. Jay Narayan Nishad, Sushil Kumar Singh and Shivanand Tiwari from the party for their anti-party activities. Both Capt Jaynarayan Nishad and Sushil Kumar Singh had joined the BJP whereas Mangani lal Mandal joined the RJD.

Purnamasi Ram too was expected to join the RJD but sources informed that he had become the Congress candidate from Valmikinagar constituency while Shivanand Tiwari has declared to campaign for the AAP in three constituencies of Varanasi, Haryana and on a Delhi seat.

The meeting of lalu Prasad and Ramashish Rai, father of notorious Ritlal Yadav, has fueled the political temperature in the State while the ruling party JD(U) leaders have cornered lalu Prasad for this unholy meeting to garner support for his daughter.
