The JD(U) is likely to take action against its two MlAs for their alleged public misconduct. Taking exception to reported bad conduct of its MlAs, the party said it was unacceptable. Jokihat MlA Sarfaraz Alam is accused of sexual advances and abusive language against a lady passenger in Rajdhani Express and Rupauli MlA Bima Bharti for helping his arrested husband to escape from police custody.

Bihar JD(U) president Bashistha Narainn Singh said, “The misconduct of public representatives is unacceptable and will be dealt strictly. If they are found guilty, the Government will not support them. We are identifying such people who are sullying the image of the party.”

While Bima Bharti’ss gangster husband Awadhesh Mandal has been re-arrested and lodged in jail in Purnia, police is investigating the rile of her wife in the entire episode, Alam is under scanner of police as well as railways and proof has been collected before taking action against him.

Alam episode took a dramatic turn when the MlA flatly denied travelling in 12423 Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express from Katihar to Patna on January 17 and claimed he travelled by road. But the CCTV footage are available showing him at Patna junction on Sunday night. Train superintendent Saheb Singh also confirmed that the MlA was in A4 compartment and that he has submitted his report detailing the incident to the Senior DCM in Dehi.

The team investigating the case following filing of FIR by lady passenger’s husband Indrapal Singh Bedi with Patna railway police went to Delhi and has procured the report. The rail police has also forwarded the FIR to Assembly Speaker. In view of the seriousness of the situation the police also investigated the location of Alam’s mobile number and found that its location on January 17 was found at Katihar and Patna railways stations as well  as the stations in between. The four member probe team which is in Delhi will record statements of Bedi and his wife besides other passengers who had their berths nearby, will also go to Katihar.

Alam still insisted that he  did not travel by that train on Sunday. He said, “I have full faith in judiciary and will cooperate with the police. When reminded him about the CCTV footage of Patna junction in which a person resembling him with two bodyguards, Alam said, “I will present my side before police and court.” Alam is son of Araria RJD MP and former Union MOS Mohammad Taslimuddin.
