JD(U) hounding ministers, Nitish to blame: Sushil

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that State Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh has been insulted by the JD (U) high command by issuing him a showcause notice after his controversial remarks on the Pakistani assault on Indian soldiers in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking exception to the issuance of showcause notice to Narendra Singh for his comments, Modi told newspersons in Patna on Tuesday that the JD (U)’s top leadership should issue showcause notice to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar instead as Ministers make such type of statements only after being prodded by the CM.

Singh had given a clean chit to Pakistan Army for its involvement on the attack on Indian soldiers by stating that the assault was carried out by terrorists. later, he sought apology for all those whose sentiments were hurts because of his comments,

Sushil Modi said that Singh should immediately relinquish his ministerial post instead of swallowing such an insult. He said that Nitish Kumar had not instructed his Ministers to visit Patna Airport when bodies of four soldiers from the State, killed in the Pakistani assault, reached there.

Ministers are now being hounded by the JD (U) top leadership when the fault lies with none other than Nitish Kumar himself.

“Narendra Singh is a very senior leader and he is in fact senior to all of us in State politics and still he is being meted out such a treatment by the JD (U) leadership,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, two Independent MlAs who have extended support to the State Government at the time of the vote of confidence sought by Nitish Kumar in the State Assembly had also come out in open support of Narendra Singh.

Nitish Kumar had tabled vote of confidence motion after he snapped the JD (U)’s ties with the BJP. later, his vote of confidence was passed in the House after he got support of four Congress MlAs and four Independents.

Independent MlA Paswan Jaiswal said that it is not good that any member of a family is disturbed as it will ultimately create problems for the head of the family, a remark made deliberately to caution Ntiish Kumar for going tough against Narendra Singh. “How head of a family could be happy when its members are not happy,” he remarked.
