Rastriya lok Dal (RlD) leader Jayant Chowdhary on Sunday visited the riot-affected Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh and demanded CBI inquiry into the violence and fixing responsibility for State administration’s lapse in containing the riots.
Jayant, who visited the region for the second time since the riot started, met family members of the victims and demanded they should be given adequate compensation and situation should be improved so that people who have fled their villages could return safely. Flaying the Akhilesh Yadav Government for being corrupt and incompetent, the RlD leader said that his party would continue to fight and oppose it.
He organised a meeting of the people of both the communities — Jaats and Muslims — affected by the riots and sought their cooperation to restore communal harmony in the region.
