Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has taken strong exceptions to reports appearing in a section of media that India would deny visa to the UN team which has been constituted to investigate charges of human rights violations and war crimes against the Sri lankan government and the liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, Jayalalithaa said the denial of visa to the UN team to hold sittings in India “would be a bitter disappointment to the people of Tamil Nadu who are determined to ensure that the Sri lankan regime is held to account for its heinous acts against Tamils.”
