Jaya urges voters to 'throw out' UPA

The Election Commission of India is yet to announce the notification and schedules of the lok Sabha election. But AIADMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, launched her election campaign in style on Monday from the ancient temple town of Kancheepuram. Jayalalithaa flew to Kancheepuram in a helicopter and within minutes took the temple town by storm.

“The Congress-led UPA Government has been looting the country for the last ten years. The time has come for you to throw out this corrupt Government. You threw out the corrupt DMK Government in the 2011 Assembly poll. Now it is time for you to finish off the UPA Government which has been looting the country and cheating the Tamils,” she blasted in her characteristic style. She began her speech invoking the name of late MGR, former Chief Minister and founder of the AIADMK. “I am asking you swear on the blood of our revolutionary leader MGR to finish off this corrupt Congress and the DMK,” thundered the AIADMK chief.

Meanwhile, the DMK and the BJP, the other major contenders,  are yet to finalise their alliance partners and complete the process of allocation of the number of seats as well as the constituencies. Though MK Stalin, DMK’s heir apparent,  alleged that Jayalalithaa came out with the details of constituencies in which her party has fielded candidates to escape appearing in front of the Special Court in Bangalore hearing the Disproportionate Asset Case, Karunanidhi and son are yet to find a formidable ally for the election.
