Jawans in Poonch, Rajouri on high alert to foil Pak BAT attack

Published on:

Taking advantage of the inclement weather conditions prevailing along the line of control in the frontier districts of Rajouri and Poonch, the Pakistan Army is desperately looking for an opportunity to launch its Border Action Teams (BAT), comprising the Pakistan Army regulars and terrorists, in order to inflict maximum casualties on the Indian Army.

According to the ground reports,  “the alert Indian jawans have been regularly recording suspicious movement of heavily armed infiltrators across the line of control near some of the notorious Pakistan Army posts in Poonch and Rajouri sector”.

Some of the recent intelligence reports also suggested that the Pakistan Army is desperately trying to target some of the forward Indian posts and attempting to launch its Border Action Teams (BAT) to inflict maximum casualties on the Indian forces. In the recent months, the Pakistan Army has suffered extensive damages in retaliatory action by the Indian Army in the region. Due to heightened alert along the LoC the Pakistan Army has failed to push a large number of infiltrators through their traditional routes of infiltration.

Official sources on ground zero revealed the Pakistan Army is attempting to mislead the alert Indian jawans by way of resorting to cross LoC firing at different locations at the same time.

“In some of the cases the Pakistan army is attempting to provide cover  firing to the small groups of heavily armed infiltrators, stationed across launch pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to infiltrate inside the Indian territory”, official sources claimed.

The handlers of these trained terrorists are desperate to send across more trained terrorists inside the Indian territory following the success of Operation 'All Out' of the Indian army. So far around 30 top commanders have been neutralised by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir this year leaving these terror outfits leaderless.

Intelligence agencies have also warned efforts are being made to breach the International border and send arms consignment and trained terrorists via Samba and Kathua sectors. In the past, BSF has also shot down drones, carrying a payload of arms, along the International border.

Meanwhile, on Friday the Pakistan army first targeted  forward Indian posts in Balakote sector around 11.30 a.m and later in the evening intense mortar shelling was reported from Mendhar tehsil in Poonch.

At both these locations, Indian army gave a befitting reply and retaliated effectively.

According to Jammu based Defence spokesman, Lt Col Devender Anand, “Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along LoC in Balakote sector around 11.30 a.m. In the evening, Pakistan initiated  unprovoked  ceasefire violation  by firing  with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along LoC in Mendhar sector around 5.45 p.m. Indian army retaliated befittingly”, he added.
