As per reports, the 15-year-old victim hanged herself to death in Kamruddinpur village in Sureri police station area of Jaunpur on Wednesday morning.

When the girl’s mother went to her room at around 8 am on Wednesday, she found the door bolted from inside. When the girl did not open the door after knocking for several minutes, she peeped through the window and was shocked to find her daughter’s body hanging from the roof.

After the incident came to light, a police team rushed to the site and recovered a suicide note from the room where the teenager hanged herself.

Later, villagers gathered in large numbers outside the Sureri police station and demanded stringent action against the accused youth and the lax police personnel who did not extend any help despite several complaints.

In the suicide note written in Hindi, the girl has mentioned that she was forced to take the extreme step due to regular harassment and molestation by a Muslim youth whom she identified as Rustam Ali. She alleged in the note that Ali had been repeatedly molesting and harassing her for the last three months.

The victim also urged her father to avenge her death and get the miscreant punished.
