Jallikattu supporters to opt for NOTA in TN polls

Supporters of the traditional bull taming sport jallikattu on Monday decided to opt for NOTA (none of the above) in the upcoming assembly election in Tamil Nadu to mark their protest against the ban on it.

Addressing reporters here, coordinator of Veeravilayattu Meetpu Kazhagam T Rajesh said they were disappointed about the way the state and central governments handled the jallikattu issue.

“We are going to opt for 49 - O (NOTA) in this election, and let them know how much we are hurt and affected,” he said.

They also decided to go on a relay hunger strike demanding that the government revoke the ban on jallikattu.
