During Ramzan, the focus of the various Government agencies involved in containment drive is on restricting assembly of worshipers across different places of worship.

Muslim religious bodies and prominent scholars have been roped in by the government to convince local residents to strictly follow the Government''s guidelines and avoid assembling at mosques for prayers five times a day including the ''Tarawih'' or extra nightly prayer usually held during Ramzan.

Historic places of worship across Kashmir valley and main markets continue to wore a deserted look.

To reach out to the impoverished families during Ramzan, the Srinagar administration has prepared  50,000 food kits for distribution  among them.

The distribution of free food kits amongst the said families is being made to support them during the month of Ramadan in view of the prevailing situation due to Covid-19 outbreak.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who is also the Chairman District Disaster Management Authority Srinagar visited the site where these kits were prepared to inspect their preparation.
