It's very bad practice to keep Parrikar's health a secret: Goa Cong chief

The Congress on Wednesday stepped up its attack on the ruling BJP in Goa, this time using the health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar as a excuse.  Addressing a Press conference in Panaji at the party's State headquarters on Wednesday, State Congress president Shantaram Naik claimed that it was a "very bad practice" to keep the health of an elected Chief Minister a secret for over two months,

even as Parrikar who was moved to a US-based hospital last month, continues to undergo treatment for a pancreas-related ailment.

"This is mockery of the worst order. Parrikar's medical condition has been kept a secret even from BJP leaders, who are supposedly close to him. He is a Chief Minister of a State and he has been hospitalised for nearly two months now and nobody knows what he is suffering from. The people deserve to know the medical condition of their Chief Minister," Naik told media persons.

The former Defence Minister was first hospitalised on February 15, after he completed of stomach pain to the State Government-run Goa Medical College and Hospital, before being shifted to the lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.
