The BJP candidate from Patna Sahib seat will now have to face the feisty leader and former Minister of the Nitish Kumar Cabinet Praveen Amanullah as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate.
After much suspense and drama, the sitting MP of the BJP, Shatrughan Sinha managed to get re-nominated for the Patna Sahib seat but now the AAP candidate has come as a real barrier for him in the upcoming electoral path.
The name of Praveen Amanullah, who was Minister for Social Welfare in the Nitish Cabinet and resigned from the party blaming the functioning of the Government, was declared as the AAP candidate from Patna Sahib seat by party leaders in Delhi on Wednesday.
The JD (U) has fielded Dr Gopal Prasad and the Congress nominee is Rajkumar Rajan from the Patna Sahib seat. Both the candidates were seen as weak against the BJP’s Shatrughan Sinha but with Praveen coming into the arena, the poll observers believe that the contest has now become “tough as well as interesting”.
