ISIS men promised haven in Iraq after attacking Hindu temples: NIA

Published on:

During the interrogation of the two ISIS suspects arrested from Rajkot and Bhavnagar, personnel of Gujarat ATS as well as National Investigation Agency (NIA) found out that both the suspects were promised to escape to Iraq post-attack on Hindu religious places.

Apart from NIA, police from eight different States, including bordering Rajasthan and Punjab will arrive in Gujarat to question Naeem Ramodia and Waseem Ramodia, who planned to carry out ‘lone wolf’ attacks on a temple at Chotila in Surendrangar district as well as two busy areas of Rajkot — Trikon Baug and Gundawadi.

The sources claimed that Ramodia brothers had planned to flee to Iran using Ghogha port in Bhavnagar district and later on to Iraq. Waseem had shown desire to work for ISIS in Iraq as well as Syria, he added.

The police are also in the process to question Ramodia brothers’ relatives to find out whether some of them were involved in the anti-national activities or not.
