Amid the rising tensions along the line of Control and International Border with Pakistan, Intelligence officials have warned that Pakistan-backed Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) is planning a major attack in Kathua district in Kashmir and Gurdaspur and Pathankot in Punjab.

According to the Intelligence Bureau, four terrorists have infiltrated into Punjab from Pind Bamial district Pathankot a few days ago and they are waiting for supply of arms and ammunitions to be provided by ISI sympathisers to execute their plan. In another alert, IB claimed that the ISI has also been nurturing the militants from Punjab who had fled following a crack down several years back.

As per the alert, “The ISI is planning a major terrorist attack in the area of Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir and Gurdaspur and Pathankot of Punjab.” The intelligence agencies further pointed out that four terrorists have infiltrated into Punjab through Bamial sector in Pathankot district a few days ago and have plotted to carry out terror strikes. But they are waiting for arms and ammunitions. “They are waiting for supply of arms and ammunitions to be provided by ISI to strike.”

It further noted that Pakistan-based agents have hired a drug courier to hand over the consignments of arms and ammunitions to these terrorists through Bamial Sector within next five days. The Central Intelligence Agencies has asked all the police forces to take all necessary preventive and precautionary measures to thwarts terror attacks and also identify the four Pakistani terrorist hiding near Pathankot district.

Officials said that intelligence agencies have started issuing specific alerts about terror strikes. Earlier this week, the agencies had given specific input about terror attack in Bandipora. Because of the inputs, the attack on a CRPF camp in Bandiporatoo  was foiled when four heavily-armed militants tried to storm the paramilitary’s camp on Monday, but were killed by security forces

Officials further stated that a few days ago, the agency had also warned the Punjab Government that a few radical groups are ready to attend the “Operation Bluestar” anniversary at Golden Temple and raise anti-India voices.
