Is Sasikala calling the shots from jail?

Rebel AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran who won the RK Nagar bye poll with a huge margin visited his aunt and former Jayalalithaa’s aide VK Sasikala at the high security central prison at Parappana Agrahara at the outskirts of IT city Bengaluru on Thursday giving way for lot of speculations about Tamil Nadu politics. His visit to Sasikala comes close after IT raids and sacking of 9 AIADMK functionaries close to him and VK Sasikala.

Talking to media after meeting Sasikala in front of jail Dhinakaran said when it comes to vote his sleeper cells will get activated to defeat the ruling Government. He also said Sasikala will break her silence on January 2 indicating more political activity.  Dhinakaran defeated E Madhusudhanan of the ruling AIADMK by a margin of over 40000 votes. He came down heavily on the bedbug comment made by Tamil Nadu Minister D Jayakumar and said, “he is a dengue mosquito. The dengue mosquitoes are being killed as they causing issues, the same way the people of TN will do away with dengue mosquitoes.” He said his win is the direct impact of the trust of the people of Tamil Nadu and said his sleeper cells will get activated when the time comes.

VK Sasikala is serving a jail term in a disproportionate assets case. AIADMK candidate E Madhusudhanan lost to Dhinakaran by over 40,000 votes, but managed to secure his election deposit. After the win, Dhinakaran claimed the people of RK Nagar elected him to Jayalalithaa’s legacy. He claimed his faction were the ‘real’ AIADMK. Sasikala was sent to jail for her role in a disproportionate assets case. Before her sentencing, she was elected as AIADMK’s general secretary, a position previously held by Jayalalithaa for close to two decades.

According to sources, TTV Dhinakaran took blessings from her and later discussed political developments for more than an hour in the prison.
