Internal bickering haunts BSY

The internal bickering has started to haunt lingayat strongman and BJP State president BS Yeddyurappa. The rebellion was very much contained after national president Amit Shah brokered peace between two warring factions one led by Yeddyurappa and the other one led by KS Eshwarappa, a backward class leader in the BJP.  It is alleged that Yeddyurappa did not implement the peace formula proposed by national president Amit Shah. Most of the disgruntled leaders have set a deadline to Yeddyurappa to follow the formula.

This development has not only dented the image of the party which hopes to capture power in the ensuing Assembly polls making Congress mukt Karnataka.

After KS Eshwarappa, a dozen senior leaders have set March 15 deadline for the BS Yeddyurappa to invite them for talks and hear their grievances. Alleging that Yeddyurappa is taking decisions unilaterally, former MlA Sogadu Shivanna said despite Amit Shah had directed him to resolve the issues by consulting all the leaders he has not taken any step in this direction.

“If Yeddyurappa fails to convene a meeting before March 15, we will list out the issues on which he has acted like a dictator and file a complaint with the Party National President,” he added.

“We are not rebels, we are working for building the party keeping in view the 2018 Assembly elections, but if he takes decisions without taking us into confidence then where is the chance to put forth our views which benefits the party,” he said.

Replying to a question, Shivanna defended going to media saying, “Media is one of the pillar of democracy. There is nothing wrong in utilising the fourth estate to air our grievances in the interest of the party.”
