Injustice done to State: Nitish

Published on:

Calling the Union Budget highly disappointing for Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on the eve of the Bihar Assembly polls Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a theatrical manner had announced a special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore but there was absolutely no mention of this in the Budget. “This Budget has nothing new and nothing special,” he said.

The CM said injustice has been done with Bihar as the fund under BRGF which the State had been getting has been discontinued. The Finance Minister has talked about the welfare of farmers and development of agriculture but no concrete programme has been charted out for this, said Nitish and added, “We were hopeful that they will fulfill their 2014 promise of fixation of minimum support price by adding 50% profit but even after two years this promise not fulfilled. Now they have promised to doubling the income of farmers in five years but this will hardly make any difference in view of the inflation and devaluation of rupee.”
