Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray said here on Thursday that while it was a good sign that the Assembly poll outcome had shown that the people had opted for regional parties in States where they were strong, the responsibilities of the regional parties concerned had increased as a consequence.
Welcoming the BJP’s poll victory in the border State of Assam, Uddhav said: “Now that the BJP has been elected to power for the first time in Assam, I expect that the infiltration into the country from Bangladesh will stop in the coming days.”
“It is a good sign people have shown their preference to regional parties over national parties in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. As a result, responsibilities of the two regional parties have increased,” Uddhav said.
