How do you deal with a situation where the wife wants to go and stay in India and the husband wants to go to BangladeshIJ Or two brothers of one family choose citizenship of two different countriesIJ The officials overseeing swapping of people between India and Bangladesh under the land Boundary Agreement (lBA) are facing these peculiar problems on a daily basis on ground where the families are unable to reach a unanimous conclusion on where they want to stay, and are constantly changing their mind.
Sources said the people of both sides have just about Thursday to decide. Thereafter, the decision of an adult will be taken as final even if it leads to a split in the family.
As a follow up of the lBA officials of India and Bangladesh are conducting a joint exercise to have a headcount of the total population affected by the exchange of enclaves between the two countries.
