Clarifying his ‘Idea of India’ on the 65th Republic Day, BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, asserted that every single Indian should be empowered with the opportunity to break free from the chains of poverty and build their own success.
However, unfortunately poverty and despondency have been perpetuated for decades, to enrich the ballot boxes of a selected few. Modi further adds that the dreams and aspirations of our people have been brow-beaten into submissive helplessness and the incredulous story of India being a poor nation has been woven to suit this purpose.
Expressing his views, Modi said that India is not a poor nation but it has been made poor. “India has been blessed with incredible natural resources as well as unimaginable human resources. That is exactly what drew the British to India centuries ago! All that is needed to release this trapped vibrancy is a change in approach. We need to harness our dreams, rather than dependency,” he said in his latest blog.
Stressing on the need for introspection, the Gujarat Chief Minister added: What does the Republic of India stand forIJ What does it mean to usIJ What has been its direction over the last seven decadesIJ And what does it need to do in futureIJ
“Our youth are brimming with energy, ready to shape not just India but the World at large. Now, it is our responsibility to enable them by providing necessary skills and opportunities. We must harness their talent by opening gates for quality education, entrepreneurship, innovation, research and technology,” he said adding that as the 21st century evolves into an era of knowledge and information, the World once again beckons India, he writes adding that it is not the might of missiles but the sharpness of the human mind that will determine the coming century.
Advocating giving more freedom to States, he said that there is a need to change the mindset of people where other States have to survive at the mercy of Delhi. “The money in our nation’s coffers belongs to the people of India! If we dream of a developed India all the Chief Ministers, the Prime Minister, State Ministers, Union Ministers — should work together with the local bodies as one strong and united team — Team India.”
