India can emerge stronger on strength of Hindutva: Bhagwat

Stating that the country should be led by a leader who commands the confidence of diverse sections of the society, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that India can emerge as a strong nation on the strength of the Hindutva.

Addressing RSS members on the eve of Guru Purnima at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on Sunday, Bhagwat said that the country cannot become strong only through a political struggle as any society should first reform itself if a real progress has to be made. He said that the entire society should work hard for improving its overall quality as the country can make progress only in such a situation.

“A country’s leader should be rich in a sense that he should possess immense faith of the entire society,” he remarked. He, however, also observed that India should find leaders at each layer of the society in view of the diversity of the country. He said that Hindutva should not be linked to any particular religion, adding that unity in diversity is possible in the country only on the strength of Hindutva.

Bhagwat said the identity of the country is the Hindutva and all those who are living in the country are identified by the philosophy of the Hindutva only.

Making an oblique reference to the perception that the RSS is the ideological head of the BJP, he said that many people have wrong perceptions about the RSS but one should not have such a false notion. He said that the RSS’s next step would be to unite those Hindus who have “forgotten” that they belong to this particular community.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav, BJP vice president CP Thakur and State BJP president Mangal Pandey were also present on the occasion.
