The Centre has asked CBI to submit proper proposals including comments from administrative authorities concerned for seeking its nod to act against senior officials accused of corruption.
The move comes after the Government noticed that the comments of administrative authorities are not being submitted by CBI and it was being forced to write to them thus causing delay in processing such requests.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), which will switch over to single window system from Friday for accepting the proposals of sanction for prosecution, said it will go ahead with the processing of the plea if the administrative authority concerned fails to give its comments to CBI within three weeks.
“Comments of the administrative authority or state government are now to be submitted along with the proposal to be submitted by the CBI after obtaining the same from the concerned administrative authority,” the DoPT said in an order issued to all chief secretaries of the State Governments, CBI and Central Government Ministries.
In case no comments are received by CBI within three weeks of submission of the proposal to the administrative authority concerned, the proposals along with reasons for not enclosing the comments of the administrative authority are to be submitted to DoPT under single window system which will come into force from August 1, said the DoPt order.
