After the increase in fares of EMU trains, the railways has now made platform tickets costlier as well. The ten-rupee platform ticket has been priced at Rs 50. Also, 250 fine on not having the platform ticket will be charged and money of the last train on Station from first station to Aligarh Junction will also be taken. However, not a single ticket was sold on the first day. The ticket checking staff did not find any person who could enter the station premises without a travel ticket.
Earlier people had to buy a platform ticket of 10 rupees. Now this ticket has been made to 50 rupees. Prior to the lockdown, tickets were purchased by 300 to 400 people to visit the platform.
But due to the price being 50 rupees, no one bought the ticket. The people who came to leave their loved ones to the station, returned by the gate.
CMI of Aligarh Junction Sanjay Shukla said that the order has come for the sale of platform tickets. Now no one will be allowed to enter the station premises without a platform / travel ticket. Duty of ticket checking staff has been imposed on the platform including entry and exit gates.
