Indian Muzahideen (I-M) suspect Imtiaz Ansari, an accused in the Patna serial blasts that took place on October 27, said sorry to his ageing parents for putting them in trouble when the National Investigating Agency (NIA) took him to his home village Sithio in Ranchi to assist the ongoing investigation.
"Imtiaz, who was brought here by the investigating team, expressed his regrets for his deeds as he has put the whole family in trouble," said his father Kamaluddin Ansari, aged over 70 years. Imtiaz as well as his parents -- Kamaluddin Ansari and Jalima Khatoon, 65, broke down the moment they met each other.
According to Kamaluddin, the NIA team stayed there for quite some time which also opened the room, earlier sealed by them. "The team also got into Imtiaz's room and conducted search for a few minutes," he added. He, however, complained that the team did not give anything in writing about the search operation conducted in the room by them. The NIA team took some books and clothes used by Imtiaz with them, he said.
Imtiaz, arrested just after the blasts took place in Patna on October 27, was brought to Ranchi by the NIA late night on Tuesday. The team also took him to the home of Numan Ansari, who has been absconding since the blasts took place at Patna. The team has also taken Imtiaz's brother Akhtar with them for interrogation. The IM suspect was also taken to other places at Sithio including the room near Taufique's home where they allegedly used to get training for preparing bombs.
Imtiaz, who belongs to the newly formed 'Ranchi Module' of the Indian Mujahideen (IM), had expressed his desire to meet his aged parents in Ranchi following which the NIA had asked Kamaluddin to come over to Patna. Kamaluddin, citing his wife's illness had turned down the NIA's invitation to meet his son in Patna. The team is currently staying at the Khukhri guest house in Ranchi.
