'I will serve as sewak'

Elated over his new gubernatorial assignment, former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh said that he would serve as a ‘sewak’ and would listen to the woes of the people and dutifully convey the same to the State Government.

Singh was appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan on Tuesday. He was very critical over the way Uttarakhand Gove-rnor Aziz Quereshi moved the apex court to remain in the seat.

Talking to The Pioneer on telephone, Singh said the act of Quereshi was against morality. “A Governor should resign himself after the change of Government at the Centre. But moving the Supreme Court by a constitutional head is unfortunate,” he said. “I will also serve the State as a sewak and assist the Government in fulfilling the dreams of the people,” the new Rajasthan Governor said.
