In one of the most gruesome incidents, a minor girl from latehar who was confined and physically abused for over 10 hours at Manika Police Station in latehar district by an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) around four days ago is
recovering slowly at RIMS to narrate her ordeal.
The girl — belonging to lower caste, was subjected to cruel highhandedness by the police officer during interrogation on a fake charge that too without following the set norms — now fears about her future.
“I can never lead a normal life. I have lost everything. Those 10 hours inside the thana were the most terrible moments of my life. I was asked dirty questions and forced to accept the crime which I had never committed,” said, Nivedita Kumari (name changed) on Sunday, while recalling the horrific incident with The Pioneer.
