Reacting to the thumping victory of the Samajwadi Party in bypolls, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that people have rejected the communal politics and have opted for the development. “I thank the people of the State for rejecting the communal forces and supporting the development-oriented Samajwadi Party in the bypolls. People have given their mandate for the Samajwadi Party, which had worked for the uplift of the State and is concentrating on development,” he told reporters here on Tuesday. The Samajwadi Party has won seven out of 11 Assembly seats along with a landslide victory in Mainpuri lok Sabha seat, Yadav said it was a high time that the communal forces should learn lesson. People want peace and they would not tolerate evil design of these forces. State PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav too claimed that the development agenda of the party had won votes for the SP. “We only propagated the Development agenda of the party and that has clicked,” he said. Meanwhile, party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said that BJP had won lok Sabha elections by telling lies and pulling wool over the eyes of the voters.
