Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday came down heavily on the “conspirators who are trying to create division among the people in the name of language and culture” asking “all of you to thwart their nefarious designs.”

The Chief Minister, who was speaking at a function in North Bengal where she inaugurated the second secretariat, attacked the Kamtapuri liberation Organisation for “spreading the message of hatred.”

The second secretariat building started functioning from Monday and would currently handle 18 Departments concerning issues related to the Northern part of the State.

Asking the people of North Bengal not to step into the trap laid by the KlO, Banerjee said “there is only devastation and no peace and prosperity in the path showed by these separatists who are spreading the message of hatred and terror.”

Daring the KlO to assassinate her She said "I dare you to kill me" adding her Government would not tolerate any violence. North Bengal hit the headlines after a bomb blast killed six people at Jalpaiguri and indiscriminate firing by the suspected KlO militants on a moving bus in Malda district injuring several others.
