The State Government has asked l&T to complete the work by November 2018.

Since the work was launched on July 5, 2012 on 72 kms long Metro Rail on three corridors, 86 per cent works were completed and work was progressing on 66.56 kms.

Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director SSV Reddy, who was recently given in year extension by the State Government said that the obstacles and delay on acquiring land and properties for the project was the biggest reason for the replay in completion of the work.

The agreement to extend the period for the completion of the project will not entail in any financial burden on the State Government.
