Further increasing the pressure on the Andhra Pradesh Government, Hyderabad High Court on Friday ordered a re- post-mortem on the bodies of five more victims of April 7 “encounter” in Seshachalam forest of Chittoor district. This is the second such order passed by the High Court. A division Bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar ordered the second post-mortem should be conducted by team of doctors from Osmania Hospital or Gandhi Hospital of Hyderabad.

Earlier, the same Bench had issued directions on Thursday for second post-mortem of one deceased Sashi Kumar. The orders were issued on a writ petition filed by Maniammal, wife of Sashi Kumar. The six bodies are now in the mortuary of a Government hospital in Chennai and team of doctors from Hyderabad will perform the second postmortem there. The court said the report of the second post-mortem should be submitted to it in a sealed envelop by Monday.

Petitioner has also sought filing a murder case against the policemen involved in the incident. Meanwhile, another petition was filed in the Hyderabad High Court seeking a second post-mortem report on the victims of Aler shootout in which five under trials were killed on April 7. Raghunath, counsel for the petitioner said the first post-mortem was performed at Warangal in a haste. He said the bodies should be exhumed to perform a second post-mortem by the experts.

The court asked the Telangana Government that it may file a counter by April 23. The petition was filed by Mohammed Ahmad Mohiuddin, father of Viqaruddin Ahmad, who was among the five under trials killed by the police while they were being brought from Warangal prison to a court in Hyderabad. He sought a direction from the court to the police for filing a FIR against the policemen involved in the incident.

The court asked the Additional Advocate General of Telangana whether the police booked a case on the complaint of the petitioner. The AAG told the court that the State Government has set up a special investigation team to probe the incident. While the police claimed that the five under-trials were killed when one of them tried to snatch the weapon from police and tried to escape. But the family members of the victims said they were killed by the police in a fake encounter.
