Hyd: Silent protest against growing lynching incidents

Published on:

Ignoring rain and damp weather, a motley crowd gathered on Hussain Sagar Tank Bund on Wednesday evening to register their protest against the growing incident of mob lynching in the country.

The protesters including activists of various mass organisations gathered with placards of “stop lynching” and “not in my name”.

As the police did not allow them to put up banners or raise any slogans the protesters held a silent sit in.

The program coincided with similar demonstration on Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and Carter Road in Mumbai. “Not In My Name” protest was called after several incidents of mob lynching across the country including the killing of 16 year old Junaid in Haryana.
