With a few days left for the BJP’s proposed Hunkar Rally on Sunday, party leader and national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Friday said that the rally would herald the end of Nitish raj in Bihar. Rudy also dubbed the rally as the biggest ever in Patna and will be celebrated as a festival ahead of Diwali and Chhath.

“Earlier, we worked hard to get rid of lalu-Rabri raj in Bihar and now through the Hunkar Rally, the people of Bihar will also get the end of Nitish raj,” said BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The BJP leader also charged that for the people of Bihar there was no change in the face of lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar.

While addressing mediapersons, Rudy further said that the Hunkar Rally would be the biggest ever rally held in Patna and it will be celebrated like festival for the party leaders and workers. “Diwali aur Chhath ke beech hum ise bhi utsav ki tarah manayenge,” said the BJP leader.

The State BJP leaders and legislators put in all their last minute efforts to make contact with people ensuring their attendance in the rally. The senior party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister in the Nitish Cabinet Sushil Modi along with party leader Nand Kishore Yadav, and Bhojpuri cinestar, who recently joined the BJP, Manoj Tiwari took out a road show again on Friday in Patna. Hundreds of youths riding on bike and wearing bandana followed the Modi entourage throwing Patna city’s  business completely out of gear.

Meanwhile, the Patna Municipal Corporation officials started removing Hunkar Rally’s banners, posters and hoardings from R-Block to Income Tax thoroughfare. Most of the BJP banners and posters have been removed in view of the President’s one-day tour to the State. President Pranab Mukherjee is visiting Bihar on Saturday to participate in a convocation programme.

The women wing of the party has applied colourful mehendi in the name of NaMo and the Hunkar Rally in large numbers. The Diwali crackers too have come to sparkle in the name of Narendra Modi and people have started moving in town wearing NaMo T-shirt with pride and elegance.

State capital Patna now is covered with BJP’s Hunkar Rally posters, banners and hoardings at every available space. Whole Patna has become a city with BJP leader’s cut-outs and life-size posters competing with each other to be noticed prominently.

However, BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh has said that since Kumar has become frightened with the growing popularity of Narendra Modi, he was making such desperate actions. “Nitish dar gaye hain Narendra Modi ke lagatar badhte popularity se..isiliye ab poster hatwa rahe hain road per se..lekin in sab ka koi asar nahin padne wala hain hamare rally par,” said former State BJP president Radha Mohan Singh. The party leader and spokesperson Shahnawaj Hussain too has expressed similar sentiment when asked for his comments on PMC removing the rally posters.

“Yeh Nitish Kumar ke hatasha ka reflection hai…Nitish Kumar ghabara gaye hain Narendra Modi ki popularity se aur rally ke milte huye apar jansamarthan se,” said Shahnawaj Hussain while addressing mediapersons at a hotel in Patna.

Meanwhile, buzz in Bihar, is that Narendra Modi will be given warm welcome in the State like never before and it will be a rally to be remembered for a long time to the people of the State for many reasons. “It may make or mar the party’s prospect in the upcoming general polls…We hope that it will not prove as ‘Indian Shinning’ campaign for the party as the State party leaders have become over-enthusiastic,” said a political observer in the State.
